John is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Virginia.

He is a seasoned Tax Manager with a: (1) Master of Science in Law (J.S.M.) in International Taxation from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA – 2013; (2) Master of Science in Taxation (M.S.T.) from American University in Washington, D.C. – 2008; and (3) Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City – 2008.

Work Experience –

John has worked for the Financial Services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; the Real Estate/Private Equity group of Ernst & Young, LLP; regional CPA firms; and corporate tax departments. John is currently working for CohnReznick LLP, the 10th largest CPA firm in the United States, in the Tysons Corner, VA, office.

John's experiences over the last fifteen years include U.S. tax compliance and consulting for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, and high net worth individuals who operate businesses in a wide variety of industries and taxing jurisdictions. In addition to federal tax experience, he also has relevant tax experience servicing his clients’ state and local and international tax issues and transactions. He has researched tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, case law, and other relevant authorities/guidance using CCH, RIA, BNA, and professional treatises.

International Tax –

John's experiences have included advising on international tax issues for inbound and outbound transactions for individuals and companies. Issues dealt with effectively connected income, FDAP income, controlled foreign corporations, foreign nationals, related party interest, interest stripping rules, dividend repatriation, and setting up tax efficient tax architectures for multinational enterprises with cross-border transactions in Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cayman Islands, India, Japan, Hong Kong, and Korea.
