This course is designed to teach criminal investigators how to effectively track, monitor and analyze the flow of illicit digital currency funds. The focus will be on cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) and the underlying blockchain technology. Students will learn how to find and de-encrypt digital currency wallets and keys on hardware devices. Students will also learn how to connect wallets, addresses and transactions with screen names, real world identities and IP addresses and ISP’s.
The class is tailored for criminal investigators working in various units including, but not limited to, Economic Crimes, Narcotics, Human Trafficking, Child Pornography, Digital Forensics, Intelligence, Tax Evasion, Ransoms, Asset Recovery, Extortion, Money Laundering, Organized Crime and Arms Dealing.
This course has been determined to qualify for AZ POST continuing training credit.
