About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead the growth of the membership of the Digital Currency Council. This is an ideal role for an experienced enterprise sales professional who has been following and is intrigued by the rise of Bitcoin, is seeking to learn about and grow his or her career within the digital currency economy, and would like to implement a professional sales process into an entrepreneurial organization.

The goal of the Business Development Director is to generate revenue for the Digital Currency Council through direct sales to professional enterprises, including financial institutions, accounting firms, and law firms by identifying, prospecting, and converting relationships with senior-level professionals in these verticals. The Business Development Director will be supported by, but should not rely on, Business Development Representatives who will use various methods of prospecting including: cold calls, warm calls, targeted email selling, attending occasional conferences, and other networking channels. The Business Development Director should be entrepreneurial and creative, yet is expected to be a strong team player as he or she will be the primary feedback channel between the product team and the market.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree required
– Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
– Highly motivated team player with an ability to work independently
– A self-starter who isn’t afraid to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done
– 7+ years of sales experience, including the development of a sales process
– Background in finance, accounting, or legal sales is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation for this role will be slightly below market, as commission schedules are generous and this role is eligible for equity options over time. Benefits are competitive with the market. Applicants should include salary history and expectations when applying.
